ING CDC Pensioenfonds’ accountability body has a vacancy in its employees’ delegation. Would you be interested in taking an active role in your pension fund and do you have the required competencies? If so, you have until 13 May 2019 to put yourself forward as a candidate.

ING CDC Pensioenfonds administers the pension plan of ING’s current and former employees and pensioners in the Netherlands. The pension fund has an accountability body (VO) consisting of four members. The VO reviews the contents of the fund’s policies and its policy execution. The VO also supervises balanced representation and has the right to advise on issues including the pension fund's remuneration policy. Click here for more information on the powers and duties of the VO and the supervisory committee.

How do you put yourself forward as a candidate?
If you’re interested in the position and believe you meet the competency requirements, you have until 13 May 2019 to put yourself forward as a candidate. Bear in mind that:

Double positions are not allowed
Being a member of the VO means you cannot at the same time hold a position in any of the pension fund's other organs.

Term of office
The term of office for VO members is four years. Members can be reappointed once only.

Diversity
In addition to professional knowledge and experience in the field of pension funds, the VO highly values diversity. The VO wants to be a reflection of the pension fund’s participants, as this ensures multiple opinions are represented and decisions are more inclusive. The VO therefore encourages people from diverse backgrounds and age groups, and with different types of skills, to participate in the elections.

Time needed
The expected amount of time needed to fulfil this position is approximately four hours a week. You must demonstrate that you have or will be able to make this amount of time available. Discuss this with your manager.

Remuneration
All current and future members of the VO are employed by ING. You will not receive any remuneration for your efforts, as your duties as a member of the VO should be fulfilled during working hours.

Next steps in the procedure
Your response will be treated with confidentiality. An interview with the election committee may be included in the procedures. If you meet all required competencies, your name will be added to the list of candidates.

Elections
If there is only one candidate, he/she will automatically be appointed the new member of the VO. In the event of multiple candidates, the pension fund will hold elections, which will probably take place this summer.
