Your Dutch state pension and your ING pension

Do you ever think about your retirement? How much income you’ll have when you retire? And whether your Dutch state pension (AOW) will start together with your ING pension? This article provides answers to several frequently asked questions.

As you head for retirement step by step, your pension fund is happy to guide you with practical information.

Will your Dutch state pension (AOW) start together with your ING pension?
No, it won’t! The starting date of your AOW depends on your date of birth. Click here to find out what date applies to you. The starting date of your pension at ING CDC Pensioenfonds depends on what has been agreed by the social partners. The standard retirement age at ING CDC Pensioenfonds is 67 years, but you can bring that forward to 60 years. Deferring after 67 is not possible.

Did you work for ING before 2014 and did you accrue pension in Pensioenfonds ING? This fund's standard retirement age is 65, but you can bring that forward or push it back. Please get in touch with Pensioenfonds ING for the exact terms of early or deferred retirement or check their website.

Important note: Some of the pension options offered by ING CDC Pensioenfonds and Pensioenfonds ING differ from each other on the details.

Will the AOW pension age keep rising?
Yes, it will continue to rise in the coming years. In 2021, the AOW pension age will be 66 years and 4 months. In 2022 it will rise by 3 months to 66 years and 7 months. In 2023 it will rise again by another 3 months to 66 years and 10 months. In 2024, the AOW pension age will be 67 years. If you were born after 31 December 1959, your AOW pension age is not yet known, but it will be at least 67. More information on the AOW is available at the Social Insurance Bank (Sociale Verzekeringsbank).

How much pension income will you have?
Preparing in advance will certainly help you. To get a more accurate idea of the amounts you can expect, check your Uniform Pension Overview (UPO), the government's website Mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl or the Pension Planner.
