Summer 2019
On 1 January 2019, Nationale-Nederlanden discontinued its voluntary ANW-gap insurance. To replace this insurance, ING has taken out additional temporary partner pension though ING CDC Pensioenfonds. You do not need to pay any premium for this insurance.
If you work at ING, you automatically build up old age pension. If you pass away, your partner will be entitled to partner pension. Your partner will receive partner pension benefit until the month in which he/she dies. When you leave the company or retire, your partner will continue to be entitled to partner pension.
Additional temporary partner pension
In addition to this partner pension, ING has taken out temporary partner pension through ING CDC Pensioenfonds with effect from 1 January 2019 for all employees. Temporary partner pension replaces voluntary ANW-gap insurance. Premium for this insurance will be fully paid for by your employer. How does it work?
While you are employed
If you pass away while you are still employed, your partner will receive temporary partner pension every year. In 2019 this amount is € 15,496. The pension fund will pay out this benefit until your partner reaches his/her Dutch state pension (AOW) retirement age.
Early retirement
If you opt for early retirement and leave ING, for instance at the age of 62, you will remain insured for temporary partner pension until you reach the standard retirement age of 67. So if you pass away during this time, your partner will receive temporary partner pension until he/she reaches his/her AOW retirement age.
Contribution-free pension
If you become fully or partly incapacitated for work and your pension accrual continues on a contribution-free basis, you will be entitled to temporary partner pension if you were still fully or party employed on 1 January 2019.
Leaving the company
If you leave the company, for example to pursue a career elsewhere, you will relinquish this temporary partner pension.
Good to know
You now know what your partner is entitled to should you pass away. If you have a live-in partner, make sure your partner has been registered in our records. If you are married or have a registered partnership, you do not need to register your partner because your municipality will inform us. Important note: your marriage, registered partnership or relationship must have commenced before your retirement starts.
Registration is easy. Login to ‘My Pension’ with your DigiD, go to ‘Direct regelen’ and open the online form ‘Register your partner’. If you prefer to use regular mail please download the form here.
