Will you have enough pension? Check out the Pension Planner

What are your dreams for later in life? And how do your ambitions tie in with your home and family situation? The Pension Planner will show you where you're at financially and what you could do to optimise your pension.

What expenditures will you have in retirement?
Will you have enough income to live comfortably when you’ve retired? This might be difficult for you to predict, particularly if you still have many working years to go. The Pension Planner will help you sketch your future situation. Based on your income and family situation, it helps you make an estimate of your future expenditures. Using data published by Statistics Netherlands (CBS), a standard outline is made that you can adjust to match your personal situation.

How much pension will you get?
Then, you map out all your possible sources of income: your pension at ING and any preceding employers’ pension plans you’ve taken part in; your Dutch state pension age (AOW); and possibly your own savings, investments or annuities. The sum of all these is your future pension income.

Enough or too little?
The Pension Planner gives you insight into your pension. The outcome might show that you could afford early retirement or part-time pension, which could be nice. On the other hand, the outcome could be disappointing. In that case, the Pension Planner will give you multiple suggestions for optimisation of your pension. Take a closer look at your expenditures, or consider taking out AOW-gap pension to bridge a deficit until you reach your AOW retirement age. Variable pension benefits could be an attractive option as well: for example, by having higher benefits paid out until you turn 70 and lower benefits after that.
